Movies in the Park - The Help
Based on the novel of the same name, The Help follows a young white woman and her relationship with two African-American maids during the Civil Rights Movement in Jackson, Mississippi in the year 1963. In an effort to legitimize her writing career, Eugenia "Skeeter" Phelan decides to write a book from the maid's viewpoints, exposing the racism they face from the white families that employ them.
Located inside Riverfront Park at the First Security Bank Amphitheater, Movies in the Park is a free summer cinema series that offers something for everyone. MitP shows a new film each Wednesday at sunset (approx. 8:30 p.m.) in June and July.
Movie starts just after sundown (approx 8:30pm) - Gates open 7pm. FREE Event. No unaccompanied minors.
