Triple Threat Emergency Fire Class

The Triple Threat Emergency Fire Class is a fun, hands-on educational workshop designed to teach families three emergency fire-starting techniques while emphasizing teamwork, perseverance, and safety.

By the end of the session, each family will:

• Understand the science and method behind three primitive fire techniques

• Build confidence in safely starting and maintaining a small controlled fire

• Develop a stronger sense of family teamwork and emergency readiness

1. Steel Wool & 9-Volt Battery

• Demonstrate how steel wool ignites with direct battery contact.

• Focus on current flow and safety precautions.

2. Ferro Rod & Striker

• Teach spark production through friction.

• Discuss best tinder materials and striker angles.

3. Bow Drill

• Explain mechanical friction and heat generation.

• Teach patience, rhythm, and steady motion.

• Best Effort – Family or participant who gave consistent focus.

• Most Perseverance – Overcame difficulty and completed all tasks.

• Special Mentions – For teamwork or creative solutions.

🏅 Skill medallions are presented in person at the end of class.

📜 Certificates mailed to homes after event.

This class uses real fire, which can be dangerous. You could get a small burn, breathe in smoke, or get hurt if not careful. Everyone must read and sign the waiver before joining the class.
