Dirk Fogg brings more than 25 years of professional experience in the equestrian industry and over two decades of collegiate coaching and teaching. He is currently the head coach of the Roger Williams University Equestrian Team, following a distinguished tenure at Johnson & Wales University, where he served as Associate Professor and Assistant Director of Riding in the Department of Equine Studies.

At Johnson & Wales, Dirk developed the IHSA hunt seat team from a club program into a competitive varsity team, consistently producing numerous riders who qualified for zone and national finals. His athletes have earned top placings at the national level, reflecting his ability to develop riders who can adapt, think critically, and perform under pressure.

Dirk is known for his ability to break down complex riding concepts into clear, practical tools that riders can immediately apply. His teaching emphasizes feel, function, and communication—helping riders develop a more secure, independent position that supports rather than interferes with the horse.

This clinic is especially valuable for riders currently competing in the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) or those preparing to ride in the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA). Dirk’s approach aligns closely with the demands of catch riding and equitation-based competition, giving students a competitive edge both in the show ring and in collegiate programs.
