Objects in Focus: Jane Austen Through the Ages

Join us for a very special event… as part of a small group, you are invited to see some of the treasures in our collection up close.

In this exclusive event we’ll be following the story of Jane Austen’s legacy from her first publication to the present day. We’ll start with Cassandra’s handwritten copy of the Sanditon manuscript, before diving into a series of special later editions of Jane Austen's novels, their illustrations and adaptations. Along the way you’ll see costume designs, theatre posters, and mementos.

This event is led by an expert on our collection who will guide you through Jane Austen’s life, works and legacy, via these precious objects.

The group numbers will be kept small and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and discuss as we go along.
