On Tuesday 28th July at ACON History Club we are going to talk about 1987 from the pages of “Outrage” one the key queer publications of the time.

We are going to discuss:
•	Censorship: its motives, and its workarounds
•	The weird and wonderful homophobic statements that came out of people’s mouths
•	The myths and realities of queer loneliness
•	The pre-digital ways of finding hookups, friendships, and relationships
•	The forgotten art of the marriage of convenience
•	“Gulag Queensland” in the pre-decriminalisation era
•	The intertwined stories of beats, beaches, fake nuns, hired choppers, illicit sex, and discreet but punished sodomy.
