About the event

Live and Later
Poetry and Spoken Word night with open mic, support and headline performances.

About this Event

Come along to our regular spoken word and poetry evening. Book yourself an open mic spot or just buy a ticket for the show. There will be wonderful work shared by our local regular performers, plus support from emerging talent Zoco, all washed down with a fantastic headline performance from Micha Colombo. Optional theme: Gunpowder, treason and plot!

Micha Colombo is a Devon-based writer and actor working in poetry, theatre and film. Her poetry has been published in collections including Demeter Press, Hot Poets, Oranges Journal, Exeter Cathedral Green Words anthology and Birch Moon Press. She is a Spork! Dead Poets Slam winner, and has performed her poetry regularly across the South West at Tunes in the Park Festival, Word Stir, Exeter Science Centre, Spork! and the Daylight Collective. Her short film ‘I Want This’, exploring maternal identity and nature connection, a commission by the Exeter Phoenix, has been selected for festivals including Tokyo Liftoff, Elevation, Cornwall Film festival, Women X Film Festival and Fringe Arts Bath. Her 2nd film, eco-comedy ‘Abigail’s an Activist Now’ premiered this year, again on commission from Exeter Phoenix, winning ‘Audience Choice’ award at Sheffield Shorts and gaining screenings at Exeter Climate Week and Respect Cinema. Her prize-winning audio drama ‘Shreds’ was produced by Theatre West last year. Micha’s latest theatre piece, ‘The Bridge’, explores our relationship with dreams and technology, which she has performed at Exeter Reclaim Festival and Totnes Fringe Festival this summer. She recently published a children’s book about climate change, ‘The Mossy Story’ in collaboration with the ART and ENERGY Collective which she is now adapting for stage. She is also co-director of ‘Wild Thyme’ a South-West theatre project exploring classical texts. She is an associate artist with Lazarus Theatre, member of Exeter Northcott Elevate programme, an active participant in the Daylight Collective and a mum to three children. @michachloe
