Suntrap Film Club — Launch Event: International Women’s Day Screening
We Were Always Here + Director Q&A with Elspeth Vischer
To mark International Women’s Day, Suntrap launches Suntrap Film Club — a new intimate screening series championing local filmmakers, underrepresented voices, and works-in-progress.
Our inaugural event features a screening of We Were Always Here, a documentary short by Elspeth Vischer.
The film, made with the LGBTQIA+ Heritage Project NI Project and HERe NI, tells the story of queer spaces past and present in Belfast and beyond. Through LGBTQIA+ women and non-binary people who have carved out this vital space, we learn of queer history and how these 'places of Pride' continue to flourish in new ways.
Following the screening, Elspeth Vischer will join us for a relaxed, facilitated Q&A and open discussion.
Suntrap Film Club is designed as a semi-regular, small-scale series focusing on local filmmakers and artists, informal Q&As, feedback sessions, and open discussion.
