We at Banbridge Lions Club are happy to be involved in a service project along with other lion clubs to carry out this wonderful collection.
There will be another opportunity for collection in Environment week 18th-26th April 2026. Further details will follow.
Clubs focus on #LionsGoGreen initiatives, including tree planting, recycling, waste management, and habitat cleanup to create sustainable, healthier communities.
We are going to be collecting sewing machines both electrical and manual as well as tools such as saws ,chisels, hammers for the charity “Tools for Solidarity”
The sewing machines are serviced by the group and then batches of the same machine ,eg " Brother or Yamaha" are sent with kits to Malawai and Tanzania.
TSF travel out to their training schools and teach people how to use the machines. The students then purchase the machines and set up their own business.
By purchasing the students do not see this as a charity hand out but have dignity through ownership. TSF also service donated tools and make up tool kits which are then sent to Tanzania.
The collection point /drop off on the date Saturday 21st March 2026 has kindly been approved by Armagh Banbridge Council for us to use Banbridge Household Recycling Centre (Scarva Road, BT32 3QD). This closes at 3.45pm on this date.
If any person has any queries, please message this page directly.
Please note that If anybody wants to recycle spectacles; we carry out this at branches of Gordon’s Chemists ( Banbridge) and Fairbairn Opticians.
