The project is based on the artist’s original method — Actor’s Meditation, which Buryachkova developed during her work with actors as a film director and screenwriter. This practice is a guided emotional journey that helps reveal hidden layers of experience, release suppressed emotions, and discover tools for inner support and resilience.

The performance will take place in an enclosed space within Reqolle Gallery. The artist will guide participants through a short meditative session in which voice, text, and imagination become instruments for encountering personal pain and moving toward an imagined Garden of Refuge — a symbolic space of light and release.

The process will be filmed by a camera inside the space and streamed onto screens in the exhibition hall. Visitors become witnesses to these intimate acts of transformation — or may enter the space themselves and become participants in the performance.

The work combines two interconnected dimensions: intimacy — a personal encounter between the artist and a participant; and exposure — the collective act of witnessing that transforms a personal experience into shared reflection.

“In the work ‘Give Me Your Pain (I Will Give You Light)’, the artist turns to the inner world of human experience — to those hidden layers where pain becomes an invisible companion, and where memory carries both strength and vulnerability. The space of meditation becomes a place of trust where one can allow themselves to be vulnerable, where even the deepest emotions are met not with judgment but with acceptance, and where individual experience gradually transforms into an act of collective witnessing, interaction, and release,” comments Maryna Hutz, curator of the project.

In the context of contemporary Ukraine and the wider world — marked by war, displacement, and collective trauma — the work becomes an artistic practice of memory and resilience. The performance offers a space where individual experiences of pain can transform into acts of empathy, support, and hope.

Reqolle is a Lisbon-based gallery specializing in contemporary collage as an autonomous artistic medium. It was founded as a space where collage is given its own ground — not merely as a technique, but as a medium with an independent voice, structure, and the capacity for complex artistic expression. The gallery’s mission is to expand the perception of collage, to create institutional and curatorial frameworks for the medium, and to support artists working with collage through exhibitions, professional representation, and dialogue.

PROMIN’ Festival is an international cultural platform presenting contemporary Ukrainian art in a European context. The festival combines film programs, exhibitions, performances, and public discussions, creating a space for dialogue between Ukrainian artists and local communities. PROMIN’ focuses on themes of memory, decoloniality, war, identity, and social transformation, while emphasizing the role of culture as a tool for solidarity and international cooperation.

Проєкт базуватиметься на авторському методі художниці — акторської медитації, який Бурячкова розробила у процесі своєї роботи з акторами як кінорежисерка та сценаристка. Ця практика є своєрідною керованою емоційною подорожжю, що допомагає виявити приховані шари переживань, звільнити пригнічені емоції та відкрити інструменти внутрішньої підтримки.

Перформанс відбудеться у замкненому просторі – галереї Reqolle. Художниця проведе учасників через коротку медитативну сесію, у якій голос, текст і уява стають інструментами зустрічі з власним болем та переходу до уявного Garden of Refuge – символічного простору світла та звільнення. Процес фіксуватиметься камерою всередині простору та транслюватиметься на екрани у виставковій залі. Глядачі стають свідками цих інтимних актів трансформації – або можуть увійти до простору й самі стати учасниками перформансу.

Робота поєднує дві взаємопов’язані площини: інтимність – персональна зустріч художниці та учасника або учасниці; та публічність – колективний акт спостереження, що перетворює особистий досвід на спільну рефлексію.

«У роботі “Віддай мені свій біль (Я дам тобі світло)” художниця звертається до внутрішнього світу людського досвіду – до тих прихованих шарів, де біль стає невидимим супутником, а пам’ять несе водночас і силу, і вразливість. Простір медитації стає місцем довіри, де людина може дозволити собі бути вразливою, де найглибші емоції зустрічаються не з осудом, а з прийняттям, і де індивідуальний досвід поступово трансформується у акт колективного свідчення, взаємодії та звільнення», – коментує Марина Гуц, кураторка проєкту.

У контексті сучасної України та світу, позначених війною, переміщенням та колективними травмами, – ця робота стає художньою практикою пам’яті та стійкості. Перформанс пропонує простір, де індивідуальний досвід болю може трансформуватися в акт співпереживання, підтримки та надії.

Reqolle – це галерея, що базується в Лісабоні та спеціалізується на сучасному колажі як самостійному художньому медіумі. Була заснована як простір, де колаж отримує власне підґрунтя – не лише як техніка, а й як медіум із незалежним голосом, структурою та здатністю до складного художнього висловлювання. Місія галереї – розширювати сприйняття колажу, формувати інституційні та кураторські рамки для цього медіуму, а також підтримувати художників, які працюють із колажем, через виставки, професійне представництво та створення простору для діалогу.

PROMIN’ festival – це міжнародна культурна платформа, що презентує сучасне українське мистецтво в європейському контексті. Фестиваль поєднує кінопрограму, виставкові проєкти, перформанси та публічні дискусії, створюючи простір для діалогу між українськими митцями й місцевими спільнотами.
