Throughout the year, we’ll read and explore the writing of this extraordinary poet, essayist, classicist, and translator. As Daphne Merkin once wrote in The New York Times Book Review: “In the small world of people who keep up with contemporary poetry, Anne Carson has been cutting a large swath, inciting both envy and admiration.”.Carson’s work is famously unclassifiable. Alongside her celebrated translations of classical writers such as Sappho and Euripides, she has published poems, essays, verse novels, libretti and many works that glide across genres. Known for her intimate erudition, her writing cuts through both your throat and your heart as she regularly writes on love, desire, sexual longing and despair.___On tender prospectstender prospects is an artist-run project space for artistic and literary research. Currently set up in Lisbon, Portugal as a gallery, library and bookstore.
