Kids Creative Writing Workshop @ Good Company Bookstore

Join us at Good Company Bookstore for a creative writing and improvisation workshop designed for children ages 6–12. This warm, supportive, bilingual program is suitable for children who understand English and/or Portuguese. Curiosity is the only requirement!

What to Expect

Through theatre games, movement, and guided story-building, children will explore their creativity in a fun, confidence-building environment. The workshop concludes with a short performance written by the students themselves.

What We’ll Be Exploring

• Creating Characters – defining and understanding who they are, what they love, how they move, and what motivates them.
• Improvisation Exercises – fun, silly, and energetic activities that teach flexibility, adaptation, and confidence.
• Collaborative Story Creation – children work together to build a shared narrative, strengthening teamwork and imagination.
• Maintaining Focus & Intention – learning to stay present, listen deeply, and follow creative impulses.
• Performing! – the workshop concludes with a brief presentation for families, celebrating the kids’ creativity and storytelling.

Tickets

Entrance for this event is €12 per child and all materials are included. Spaces are limited, so we strongly suggest booking your ticket early to avoid disappointment.

FAQs

Does my child need to read or write?

No. Curiosity is all that’s needed. Stori, the facilitator, will happily transcribe for any child who prefers oral storytelling. Storytelling in both English and Portuguese is highly encouraged!

Can parents participate?

Parents are welcome to stay and enjoy the bookstore and cafe, but the creative work is designed to be fully child-led.

Do we need to bring materials?

All materials are provided. If your child enjoys using costumes or fun props during creative play, they are welcome to bring them!
