Drop In Improv Class with Dan Burt @ Selva Comedy Cafe

We're hosting a drop-in improv class at Selva Comedy Cafe on 7th March! All you have to do is mark your attendance here and come by. The class will be taught by Dan Burt and entry fee is €10 to be paid on arrival by cash or card.

During this improv games class you will spend three fun filled hours playing, laughing and learning!

Daniel Burt will teach you the ins and outs of all of his favorite warm ups, games, and even some scene work skills so you can bring out your silly inner child!

What is improv?
Improv, short for improvisational theatre, is a form of live performance where the plot, characters, and dialogue are created in the moment without a script. Performers spontaneously build scenes by listening, accepting offers, and collaborating with each other and the audience. Shows often begin from a simple suggestion, like a location or relationship, and grow into unique, never-to-be-repeated stories. Improv can be comedic or dramatic, short-form “games” or longer narrative pieces, but it is always about discovery in real time.

About Dan Burt:
Dan's been performing/teaching improv for over 25 years. He has been trained by and performed with theaters like iO Chicago, The Annoyance Theater, and ComedySportz, to name a few. Daniel is a big believer of the “follow the fun” approach to improv while also figuring out how to bring your own unique ideas to the party. Daniel’s background is in short form and long form improv. So whether you want to learn how to play New Choice or do a Harold, Daniel can help you follow your fun.
