You know the basics of COI, heterozygosity, and allelic richness, but how do you actually use that information when planning your breedings? Jed Packer will go beyond the numbers to show how to evaluate potential pairings, preserve the traits you love, maintain genetic diversity, and think several generations ahead.

🐾 WHEN BREEDER RELATIONSHIPS GET HARD: DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS, BOUNDARIES & PROTECTING YOUR PEACE

Breeding comes with some hard conversations, whether they’re with puppy/kitten families, other breeders, guardian homes, or even ourselves. We’ll talk about handling conflict and criticism, setting healthy boundaries, and navigating disagreements without damaging relationships. We’ll also dig into the guilt, shame, comparison, and pressure we sometimes carry as breeders, and how to give ourselves and others more grace while still taking responsibility, learning from mistakes, and protecting our peace.

🐾 FROM PHOTOS TO FAMILIES: PHOTOGRAPHY, SOCIAL MEDIA & SELLING YOUR PUPPIES/KITTENS

You don’t need expensive equipment to create great puppy/kitten content. Lizzy Smith does it all from her iPhone and will show you how to take and edit polished photos, create simple setups, and use photos, videos, and social media to market your puppies/kittens. She’ll also share practical strategies for giving available or older puppies/kittens fresh attention and helping them find their families without sounding desperate or immediately turning to discounts.

🐾 THE POWER OF SHARING THE REAL STORY: HOW VULNERABILITY BUILDS CONNECTION

When tiny Tito was born weighing just 2.8 ounces, Katherine Weaver began sharing his fight to survive on social media. His story captured thousands of hearts and grew her Facebook community from about 8,000 to more than 20,000 followers in less than three months. Katherine will share what she learned about vulnerability, authentic storytelling, and allowing people to see the real moments behind a breeding program, and how Tito's story unexpectedly led her into the world of children's books.
