- **Event Description**: This one-day training workshop provides museum and archive professionals with essential knowledge and practical skills for the care and consAbout this EventThis one-day, in-person training workshop at the University of Lincoln provides museum and archive professionals with essential knowledge and practical skills for the care and conservation of a diverse range of collection materials.About this eventThrough the sharing of case studies from the work undertaken at Lincoln Conservation Studios and within museums across the Midlands; as well as practical workshops and a tour of the Studios, participants will gain an understanding of preventive conservation principles and material-specific considerations to ensure the long-term preservation of cultural heritage.It will also explore the consideration of preventative care in a holistic way, considering the importance of understanding and respecting the cultural life of the object as well as the materials they are made from.Who should attend?Maximum two delegates per organisation. Priority will be given to delegates from non-NPO and non-National museums in the Midlands which are Accredited or officially Working Towards Accreditation. If you are from an NPO, you will be moved to a waiting list and offered a place if any remain closer to the event.AccessibilityIf you have any accessibility requirements please answer ‘yes’ to the access requirements question on the booking form and email the MDM team as early as possible stating the support you require.All participants will receive an email containing full event details.
