- **Event Description**: Please join us as we prepare to celebrate our 10th Annual Community Backpack Drive Project in honor of Talona Marten. As many of you know, we lost Talona 10 years ago this August. As a way to honor her memory and her love of children, our family hopes to continue the tradition we began in July 2017 and host another successful backpack drive. Since starting this tradition 9 years ago, we have received enough backpacks and monetary donations to provide more than 1,600 backpacks filled with school supplies to children and families in need throughout the community. Please come show your support and help us honor Talona on Saturday July 18th, 2026 from 10:00am-12:00pm and drop by a backpack filled with school supplies at the VFW parking lot (915 5th street, Lincoln). The backpacks will be distributed to children in need within the community. Backpacks can be picked up by families in need on Saturday August 1, 2026 10:00a.m-12:00p.m. (Or until all backpacks are picked up) at the VFW parking lot (915 5th street, Lincoln). Help us to make this event an even bigger success than last year and share this event with your family and friends! ❤️
