The mission of PHTLS is to promote excellence in trauma patient management by all providers involved in the delivery of prehospital care through global education. PHTLS is developed by NAEMT in cooperation with the American College of Surgeons’ Committee on Trauma. The Committee provides the medical direction and content oversight for the PHTLS program.Target AudienceRecommended 16-hour course for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physician assistants, physicians and other prehospital providers.Continuing EducationUpon successful completion of the course, students receive a certificate of completion recognizing them as PHTLS providers for 4 years, and 16 hours of CAPCE credit.Cost$225.00 - Includes all course materials. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided both days.Cancellation / Withdrawal / No ShowLess than 2 weeks from the start of the course, or if course materials have been sent out, there will be a $100 fee.Eventbrite fees are non-refundablePHTLS Class Reimbursement for Nebraska EMS Providers:A substantial part of the cost for this class may be eligible for reimbursement through Nebraska state DHHS EMS specialty course reimbursement funds.This reimbursement is available only to Nebraska licensed active EMS providers. Up to $180.00 may be reimbursed for specialty courses like PHTLS. The application must be submitted to the state at least 14 days in advance of the course, and the course completion certificate and other documentation must be returned to the state within 30 days after the course. You may access information and the application for the reimbursement program here:Grant Guidelines - Feb16As noted in the funding guidelines, our PHTLS class is an eligible course for this reimbursement program.
