Lincolnshire PE, School Sport and Physical Activity Conference 2019 (Early Years)
Early Years Practioners are invited to attend from 9.00am – 12.10pm for two informative workshops led by industry experts. The sessions have been developed to support the EYFS Physical Development theme and will help practioners understand the importance of physical activity and how they can encourage and develop new opportunities for young children to be active, interactive and help develop co-ordination, control and movement in a fun and informative way.
9.00am –Welcome by Dr William Bird
10am – 11.00am – Zip Active - This interactive workshop will explore child development and the opportunities high quality daily physical activity and PE provide in the development of the whole child with a particular focus on communication & language..
11.20am – 12.10pm – The first part of this session is brought to you by JB Adventures Physical Activity Games. The JB adventure series is designed as a cross-curricular P.E resource aimed at EYFS and KS1 pupils to improve their physical literacy. With a focus on each different area of the P.E curriculum, the JB adventure series is not only a fun and imaginative way to engage all pupils in P.E, but are also a great way to develop pupils’ interest in literacy.
For the second part of the session, practioners will learn fun and innovative ways to create opportunities for physical activity and development using the limited resources that are already in the nursery/pre-school setting.
