Jonah and Friends

From the back of the band, Jonah Bennett is a bassist that brings joy to the music he plays. With jazz, pop, blues, gospel, and musicals, his musical palate is diverse and deep. Jonah was the winner of the Capital Jazz Society Young Artist competition in 2019 while he was completing his Music Education degree at UNL. Since then, he has performed with Tetsuya Nishiyama, Pablo Masis, Jon Ailabouni, “Back to the Future” at the Lied Center, Jeni Grouws, Myles Jasnowski, Noah Floersch, Andrea von Kampen, Madeline Reddel, and Rascal Martinez, in addition to his own projects and teaching orchestra in Lincoln Public Schools. As he is completing his masters in Jazz Bass at UNO, he continues to write and perform music of all sorts. He is joined by his friends Keaton Clark, band director at Lincoln High, and Nathan Bjoin, a doctoral student in jazz at UNL.
