Moving beyond the ACE score to understanding resilience, connection, and hope.
Description:
This presentation invites participants to move beyond the misconception that an Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) score is a diagnostic tool and into a deeper, more hopeful dialogue about trauma, resilience, and healing. Co-facilitated by an ACEs Training Specialist and a lived-experience expert, this session blends research, real-world insight, and personal storytelling to humanize ACEs research. Participants will explore the science behind ACEs, the protective power of Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs), and the role each of us plays in fostering resilience. This training creates space for honest conversation about the impacts of childhood adversity—without leaving us stuck in despair—centering instead on possibility, connection, and the supports that truly make a difference.
Audience:
Professionals working with children and families, caregivers, and anyone who cares about the well-being of children.
Cost:
Free to the community. Registration required.
