Professor Eoin Devereux is a Professor of Cultural Sociology, Creative Writer and Experimental Musician who teaches at the University of Limerick, Ireland. He is also an Adjunct Professor in Contemporary Culture (focused on fandom and discourse) in the Department of Art, Music and Culture at the University of Jyvasklya, Finland.

In addition to teaching on UL's MA in Creative Writing, Eoin co-directs the UL Creative Writing Winter School with Professor Sarah Moore. 

Eoin's Research Interests include: 
David Bowie (numerous writing projects). 
L-Pop: Mapping Popular Music in Limerick City.
Media Representations of Homelessness.
Media Representations of Food Poverty.
Creative Writing in Community Settings. 

A life-long music fan, Eoin has written the Sleeve Notes for the re-issued versions of The Cranberries' albums 'Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We ', 'No Need To Argue' and 'To The Faithful Departed' for Universal Music London. He also wrote the sleeve notes for the 'Remembering Dolores' album released for Record Store Day. 

He has published numerous books including work on David Bowie, Joy Division and Morrissey.  

His debut collection of poetry, Gardening Leave, was published in late 2025. Originally from Kennedy Park in Limerick City, it explores Eoin’s working class origins and many of the things that have shaped his life.
