The UK Connection

Son Henry has a long and meaningful connection with the UK blues community. After moving to Scotland in the mid-2000s, he quickly became a familiar face on the British blues circuit, performing at clubs and festivals across the country. During those years he earned two British Blues Awards for his lap steel playing, establishing himself as one of the most distinctive slide guitar voices in the scene. His return to the UK brings that story full circle, reconnecting audiences with an artist whose musical roots run deep on both sides of the Atlantic.

FOR FANS OF

Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter, Rory Gallagher, Bonnie Raitt, Ry Cooder, Derek Trucks, North Mississippi Allstars, and classic Texas, Chicago, and Delta blues.

The Son Henry Trio delivers a powerful blues show built around Son Henry’s award-winning lap steel and slide guitar, blending deep Delta roots with the swagger and fire of Texas-style electric blues. Backed by bassist Dan Lopata and drummer Smokin’ Joe Pizzo, the band moves effortlessly from gritty blues grooves to high-energy shuffles and soulful slow burners.

Henry’s playing draws from the tradition of the great Texas bluesmen while adding his own voice on lap steel, creating a sound that is both raw and refined. The trio format keeps the music tight and dynamic, leaving plenty of space for improvisation, storytelling, and the kind of electrifying slide guitar that has earned him recognition on the international blues stage.
