# Event Details

- **Event Name**: Cape Fear River Rendezvous 2027
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 19 Jun, 2027 at 09:00 am (-04:00)
- **Event Description**: Cape Fear River Rendezvous is the first of our now annual set of community paddling trips down the Cape Fear River. This will be our 4rd year hosting the Rendezvous in conjunction with ACA's Summer Solstice program. We will start at NCWRC's Wildlife Road and paddle 8 miles to the public takeout at the Cape Fear River Trail Park in Erwin. This trip is open to everyone and registration is not required. The 8 miles section does contain some rapids but all are beginner friendly for all types of kayaks, canoes, and even a paddleboard if you are up to 8 miles. The last couple trips have had over 30 paddlers with a majority being repeat participants so it must be fun. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer.

Just a reminder that this event is coordinated and promoted by ACA so all standards apply such as Life Jackets/PFDs must be worn by all participants at all times on or near the water. Additionally, helmets must be worn by anyone wearing a skirt on their kayak or strapped into a canoe. Helmets are also HIGHLY recommended for all paddlers during 4 small sections of rapids. If a paddler does not have a helmet we have many extras but need to know ahead of time. As with all the previous trips we have sponsors who provide kayaks to borrow for free for the event, they just need prior notification.
