- **Event Description**: Students who qualified at the Barwon Athletics Carnival, will compete at the Regional Athletics Trials on Friday 4th September in Tamworth.

The trials will be held at Tamworth Regional Athletics Centre, Jack Smyth Drive, Tamworth NSW 2340 (New England Hwy).

Marshalling at 8:00am to begin 8:15am sharp.

The use of starting blocks is optional at the regional carnival. The crouch start is also now optional for all runners. These same rules will apply at the state level. Footwear must be worn by all competitors. Spikes may be worn in all track and jump events except the 800m and 1500m.

Any competitor who comes 1st, 2nd or 3rd at the regional carnival will be selected to represent the North West Region at the NSWPSSA State Championships Carnival, being held at Homebush on Wednesday 21st  – Thursday 22nd October 2026.

If the carnival is postponed due to overnight rainfall, it will be posted on the North West SSA Facebook page.
