- **Event Description**: SMIR (Stockholm Multi Island Run) is a one-of-a-kind adventure race. It began as a wild idea back in 2015: could someone run the entire Stockholm Archipelago—from Arholma to Utö—in a single day, using boats to travel between the islands?

It had never been done before—until 2017, when the Original 10 proved it was possible. Since then, we've hosted several awesome versions of SMIR:

• SMIR Original – From Arholma to Utö in daylight, using one large ferry for transport.
• SMIR Back to the Future – Held during the pandemic, featuring 3 high-speed boats.
• SMIR Extreme – A dusk-to-dawn overnight race from Utö to Arholma.

We thought the final chapter of SMIR was written in 2023, when we decided to retire the race. But then... we got the itch again. So in 2027, we’re bringing SMIR back to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Original 10 who made history. Whether this will be the final SMIR, nobody knows. But if it is, we’re going out in style – hosting both:

• SMIR 2027 Original – Starting from Arholma Nord at 08:00 on Saturday, July 3
•SMIR Extreme 2027 – Starting from Utö at 20:00 on Sunday, July 4

The races are stand-alone, but those brave enough to attempt both are more than welcome. Team applications open March 1, 2027. We’ll select 20 teams per race to join us for this epic adventure. Priority will be given to previous SMIR finishers & race friends.
