- **Event Description**: Professor Mamidipudi Thirumala Krishna from the University of Birmingham will present on the allergy epidemic. 
 
High income countries including the UK have a huge burden of allergies and allergic conditions such as hay fever, asthma and food allergy. This situation is compounded by an unmet need for allergy services. An overview of allergies: how common they are, ethnicity-based disparities, the importance of self-management through education, and novel therapies. 

Visitors are welcome to attend for a small fee of £8 (cash on the night please). Seating is on a first come first serve basis. Members are given priority.

Lichfield Science and Engineering Society is a membership organisation. Membership is great value at £35 for the year. This gives you access to the season's lectures, discounted tickets for the annual Darwin lecture, plus visits. See www.LSES.org.uk for more information.
