Lichfield Festival of Folk 2025 comes to a triumphant close on Saturday 4th October with a truly special evening in the breathtaking Lichfield Guildhall. Steeped in history, with its grand vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows, and rich acoustics, the Guildhall provides the perfect backdrop for a night of unforgettable live music.
Returning by popular demand, we’re thrilled to welcome back Merry Hell, a firm favourite with LFF audiences. This award-winning, eight-piece folk-rock band from the North West is known for their rousing anthems, infectious energy, and powerful lyrics that speak of love, hope, and humanity.
With soaring harmonies, driving rhythms, and an unmistakable sense of joy, Merry Hell have built a devoted following across the UK festival scene—and after their electrifying performance at a previous LFF, we were desperate to bring them back to close the festival in style.
Supporting will be Farefeld, a Staffordshire-based acoustic duo whose heartfelt songs and exquisite vocal harmonies have won the hearts of local audiences. Blending traditional folk influences with contemporary songwriting, Farefeld's music is both reflective and uplifting, capturing the beauty of storytelling through song.
Kicking off the evening are the winners of the 2025 Lichfield Festival of Folk Songwriting Competition. This prestigious contest celebrates original songwriting rooted in folk tradition, offering an inspiring platform for emerging talent.
Join us for a joyful, foot-stomping finale to Lichfield Festival of Folk 2025!
