You asked, and we listened! Voices Amplified is thrilled to announce the return of Make Them Hear You!
Voices Amplified, a collective dedicated to empowering artists and creating equitable spaces in arts education and theater performance, is proud to present the return of Make Them Hear You, Conceptualized and directed by Ron Wilbur, this cabaret will bring to life an inspiring tapestry of songs and spoken word, each piece lovingly created by African American artists. With this event, we celebrate the resilience and vision of the trailblazers who have shaped our path, embracing the vast and varied stories within the Black Musical Theatre canon. We seek to elevate the brilliance of Black artistic talent in our community, honoring voices that echo with beauty, strength, and a timeless call to be heard.
Make Them Hear You, will feature vocalists Alexandra Brown, Elijah Merricks, Gabrielle Holder, Jaila Yeast, James Brubage, Jessica Greene, Isaac Jones, Myles Radford, Naomi Daniels, Semaje Thorton, Vivien Kurtz, Gabrielle Holder, Kadyn Edwards, Kayden Gentry, Nicholas Wilson, Lena Vickers , ZaMaya Clay, and Spoken Word Artist Taca Hollis. With live artistry in collaboration with Maven, a women’s art experience, and more collaborations from the community to be announced. Make Them Hear You is made possible through a generous grant provided by LexArts with support by Black Soil and Creative Altruism.
