The Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras (CKYO) Symphony Orchestra is the flagship ensemble of an organization that has nurtured young musicians across the region since 1947. Under the baton of Music Director Marcello Cormio, the Symphony Orchestra brings together the area's most accomplished student musicians, selected by audition, for performances that showcase the depth of classical talent thriving in Central Kentucky. 

Serving over 450 of students each year from 12 counties and over 50 schools, CKYO offers a full spectrum of audition-based ensembles and tuition-free community programs designed to make orchestral music accessible to young people of every background and at every level. The Symphony Orchestra represents the pinnacle of that work: dedicated students performing at a professional caliber under expert direction.
