Taylor will explore how horses reshaped everything from raising animals to our methods of communication, trade, power, and warfare - and what new science about the past means for the future of people and horses today. About Our Speaker:
Dr. William Taylor is an Associate Professor and Curator of Archaeology at the University of Colorado Boulder. His research focuses on human–animal relationships, emphasizing on horses and domestication in the ancient world. He leads field projects across the Great Plains, the American West, Mongolia, and the Central Asian Steppes, and has conducted museum research on ancient horses in Africa, Australia, and South America. A National Geographic Explorer, Dr. Taylor has received the Newcomb Cleveland Prize from the American Association for the Advancement of Science and was a finalist for the Chrysalis Prize.
 
This special EquineEd lecture is part of the World Horse Day Celebration at the International Museum of the Horse, featuring artist demonstrations, horse meet and greets, and more throughout the day.
