Through focused didactic instruction paired with case-based discussion, live polling, and interactive workshops, participants will explore how ICU-level acuity, medical complexity, physiologic readiness, patient goals, and risk tolerance shape assessment and treatment decisions across critical care, acute care, and outpatient settings. The emphasis is on clear thinking when answers aren’t obvious—moving beyond protocols to support confident, patient-centered dysphagia management in complex clinical environments.Saturday registration begins at 7:15am. The course will begin at 7:50am and adjourns at 5pm. There will be a light breakfast and two breaks throughout. Lunch will be provided. Tentative topics include:Critical Care Dysphagia Starts Before the Bedside ExamAssessment Without Autopilot: Dysphagia Decision Making in Acute CareControversial Topics in Dysphagia ManagementStatic Plans in Dynamic Patients: Avoiding Transitional FailuresSunday the course begins at 8:20am.
