Pipeline developer Williams Transco wants to build a new high-pressure methane gas pipeline through Wallburg, Midway and Welcome and expand a compressor station northwest of Lexington. This project, called the Southeast Supply Enhancement Project, would pose a variety of safety, health and economic risks.

Join us on Monday, Nov. 3rd for a public meeting to discuss timeline updates and how you can take action to protect the community from this project.

Transco has applied for a air pollution permit from the state Department of Environmental Quality — the project cannot move forward without this permit. During the meeting, we’ll discuss the permit timeline and share a major opportunity to voice your concerns with NCDEQ before they make a decision on the permit.

The SSEP would mainly serve industrial customers outside of Davidson County, including data centers, and would create few local permanent jobs. The proposed pipeline route is just hundreds of feet from homes, schools, and businesses. This project would put the community at risk if the proposed pipeline leaks, catches on fire or explodes.
