In a time when immigration is often shaped by disinformation and misinformation, how can Christians faithfully discern what to believe—and how to respond? Rev. Mara Bim brings both pastoral experience and on-the-ground insight from her work in Dallas, Chicago, and Minneapolis. She will offer an overview of immigration realities, share stories of communities of resistance, and reflect on what Christians are called to in this moment.

Rev. Mara Richards Bim is a pastor, writer, speaker, and spiritual director currently serving as the Justice & Advocacy Fellow in the Prophetic Leadership Program at Royal Lane Baptist Church. A graduate of SMU’s Perkins School of Theology, she was ordained in 2025 and previously spent two decades as an award-winning theatre artist, founding Cry Havoc Theater Company that operated in Dallas from 2014-2023. She has received numerous recognitions for her leadership and advocacy and continues to write and speak widely on issues at the intersection of faith, politics, and justice.
