- **Event Description**: A free community-wide Thanksgiving Dinner is planned for 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26 at the Visitor’s Center, 222 S. Main St., Lewistown, IL.
The public is invited to celebrate by dining in for a traditional feast featuring turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn, etc. Desserts and drinks are provided, too! Pick up may also be arranged by contacting Carrie at 309-222-7336.
Holiday meal affordability is certain to be a challenge for many this year. Volunteers hope to serve about 300 meals. Donations are needed and welcomed. Please click the link Community Thanksgiving in the comments and simply sign your name on the left beside any item you are willing to contribute. You may also describe the contribution.

Helpful hints:
Turkeys, hams and refrigerated/frozen items can be purchased through our local County Market. (Sorry, no meat donations can be accepted from home freezers.) Purchased items will be stored there for us before the event. These items can also be purchased at other stores but you will need to call Jennifer at 309-338-5578 to arrange drop off.
Non-perishable donations may be dropped off at the Visitors Center 1-3 p.m. Tuesdays.
There are links to help describe some of the items. Feel free to purchase them anywhere, at the best price.
The deadline for purchase/drop-off of donations will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, the 18th. To drop off outside those hours, contact June at 309-224-5358.
A variety of desserts is sought. Health codes rule out pumpkin, pecan and cream pies. Please sign your name beside the desserts entry and describe type and amount.
