- **Event Description**: Welcome to Bates NAUDC 2026! 
We are pleased to announce that Bates College will be hosting the North American Debating Championships 2026 in the beautiful state of Maine. The tournament will run from Friday, March 6th to Sunday, March 8th. 
We are striving to make the tournament as competitive and accessible as possible and are working with a world-class CA team to ensure a balanced, fun, and stimulating motion set.

Saturday March 7th 
7:15 AM - Judge Registration and Breakfast
8:00 AM - Round llI Draw
10:30 AM- Round IV Draw
12:30 PM - Lunch
2:00 PM - Round V Draw
4:30 PM - Round VI Draw
5:30 PM - Dinner

Sunday March 8th 
7:30 AM - Check-in and Breakfast

The schedule is at the discretion of org com and may be subject to change.

REGISTRATION 
The participation fee per participants is set at $225.  
We are enforcing a judging requirement of n-1. 
We are aware that some non-US universities are imposing travel restrictions on teams seeking to compete within the United States. We are accordingly allowing non-US teams that can prove institutional bans on travel to compete online. Please submit relevant proof with the registration form. Since we want to ensure that Bates NAUDC 2026 remains a predominantly in-person tournament, we will only allow teams explicitely prohibited from travel to compete online. Other STRONGLY prohibitive extenuating circumstances faced by non-US institutions may be grounds for hybrid approval at the discretion of org com. The reg fee for teams barred from traveling to the United States will be reduced by $60 per participant.

Notes on missing judges: 
We are enforcing a missing judge fee of $350 dollars / missing judge. We will waive this fee if a team brings especially qualified judges, ie judges who have broken at majors.
