- **Event Description**: Caterpillars are hungry - and on the move - all over West Virginia!

In this workshop, we'll show you how to find and ID caterpillars, native bees, and other arthropods through simple protocols (Caterpillars Count, rare bee survey) that will provide scientists with valuable data on the health of our woods over time.

We'll start with a simple background on caterpillar and pollinator ecology and then head to the Warbler Trail at Wood Thrush Park to complete a recently established Caterpillars Count! survey circuit.

This is an interactive, field-based training. Participants that complete the training can return to monitor caterpillars at Wood Thrush Park for volunteer hours, if interested.

All are welcome! No experience necessary. All tools will be provided. Trail is about 0.5 miles long with some uneven ground.
