Rock & Read is our annual reading marathon and community fundraiser — a joyful evening where stories come to life in the heart of downtown. Held in partnership with Barnes & Noble at Bucknell University, The Blooming Rooster Floral Events & Gifts, and the historic Campus Theatre, this event takes place during Downtown Lewisburg’s Late-Night Shoppers celebration.
Readers of all ages are invited to take a seat in a Market Street window and share a favorite book, poem, or story aloud — spreading the magic of reading into the crisp December air. Some come in costume, others sing or perform, but all help keep the spirit of community shining bright.
Every minute read helps raise vital funds for the Donald Heiter Community Center’s youth and family programs. Readers aim to raise $4 per minute, and supporters can sponsor a child reader for $60 to help make every story count.
