Shiatsu is a hands-on therapy, connecting with our life-energy (Ki). It supports and strengthens our body’s natural ability to heal and balance itself.  It is a deeply relaxing experience. Regular sessions can alleviate stress and illness; maintaining health and our sense of well-being. Shiatsu means ‘finger pressure’ in Japanese. Normally working on a floor level futon mat.
Claire Gilliver, heads The Shiatsu College (est. 1986) Brighton branch and brings this workshop with the ‘five phases’ theory in mind for summer heart connection. 

We are offering a two-hour workshop: sharing the Principles of Shiatsu Technique & Approach, experiencing & learning to give simple safe Shiatsu to friends and family. Working with presence, posture and breath and aiming to develop body and emotional awareness for connectedness in practicing & receiving Shiatsu. Also touching on an introduction to the Classical Meridian System and use of some major pressure points. The workshop starts with warm-up exercises: ‘Do-in’ Japanese exercises & Qi-Gong.

All Shiatsu is given & received fully clothed – please wear loose, comfortable, well covering clothes for movement & clean socks. All levels of experience are welcome from beginners to well practiced. Join us for a peaceful, mind calming, tension releasing workshop.
