Dear Stakeholder,
I am writing with an update for you on our work to improve the quality of Bathing Water at Lower Largo Bay ahead of the 2026 Bathing Season.
As you are aware, our focus is on delivering a new treatment solution which involves a non-chemical waste water treatment plant incorporating UV disinfection alongside secondary treatment. I wrote to you on 3 September to confirm that a planning application in support of this work at a location adjacent to the existing Waste Water Treatment Works was being submitted to Fife Council.
Following on from this, I can now confirm that we will be hosting a drop-in event in Lower Largo to allow the community to learn more about this project and the specifics of the planning application.
The drop in information event will be held at the Durham Hall, Durham Wynd, Lower Largo from 4-7pm on Tuesday, 4 November 2025.
Members our project team will be in attendance to explain the solution in greater detail, listen to feedback from the community and answer questions.
This date is later than we initially anticipated but will still allow time for the community to contribute to the project and to respond to the planning application.
We would appreciate your attendance and support at this event. Please let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to seeing you on 4 November. Kind regards, Alex
