In 1987 werkten Mark Hollis en producer Tim Friese-Greene maandenlang in stilte aan Spirit of Eden (1988), een revolutionair album waarin jazz, ambient en impressionistische klanken samenvloeiden. Eerst onbegrepen, groeide het uit tot een visionair meesterwerk en voorloper van post-rock. Na het nog experimentelere Laughing Stock (1991) verdween Talk Talk. Bands als Radiohead en Sigur Rós erkenden later hun invloed.

In The Spirit Of Talk Talk brengt David Poltrock – in samenwerking met 30CC – een aantal fans van Spirit of Eden samen om dit iconische album weer tot leven te wekken. Stefanie Callebaut, Lennert Coorevits, Ruben Block, Isolde Lasoen, Ewen Vernal, Geoffrey Burton, Joachim Badenhorst en Poltrock spelen Spirit of Eden integraal en vullen de set uiteraard aan met wat classics uit het indrukwekkende repertoire van zowel Mark Hollis als Talk Talk.
