Salsasabrosita.be is pleased to announce that Johan Murillo will be visiting Leuven for the first time to lead an exclusive bootcamp on April 10th.
🔥 Who is Johan Murillo?
Johan Murillo is an experienced and passionate dancer from Cali, Colombia, specializing in Cali-style salsa, Latin American rhythms, and urban dance styles. He trained at the renowned Fundación Swing Latino, where he developed strong skills in technique, musicality, body isolation, and stage presence. He also participated for five consecutive years in the prestigious Salsódromo during the Feria de Cali, one of the most important salsa events in the world.
🔥 What is Cali Style?
Cali-style salsa is a Colombian dance style recognized worldwide for its extremely fast footwork. Unlike other salsa styles, dancers maintain an upright posture without leaning their bodies when shifting weight, executing extended and dynamic foot movements. Cali is widely regarded as the salsa capital of Latin America. Each December, the Feria de Cali features a spectacular week-long celebration, including parades with over 50 salsa schools, more than 1,000 dancers, live orchestras, and nightly performances by renowned salsa artists.
During his visit to Leuven, we will host 2.5 hours of intensive workshops:

🔥 Wie is Johan Murillo?
Johan Murillo is een ervaren en gepassioneerde danser uit Cali, Colombia, gespecialiseerd in Cali-stijl salsa, Latijns-Amerikaanse ritmes en urban dansstijlen. Hij werd opgeleid aan de gerenommeerde Fundación Swing Latino, waar hij sterke vaardigheden ontwikkelde in techniek, muzikaliteit, lichaamsisolatie en podiumprésence. Hij nam ook vijf opeenvolgende jaren deel aan de prestigieuze Salsódromo tijdens de Feria de Cali, een van de belangrijkste salsa-evenementen ter wereld.

🔥 Wat is Cali Style?
Cali-stijl salsa is een Colombiaanse dansstijl die wereldwijd bekend staat om zijn extreem snelle voetenwerk. In tegenstelling tot andere salsa-stijlen behouden dansers een rechtopstaande houding zonder hun lichaam te kantelen tijdens gewichtsverplaatsingen, en voeren ze uitgebreide en dynamische voetbewegingen uit. Cali wordt algemeen beschouwd als de salsa-hoofdstad van Latijns-Amerika. Elke december viert de Feria de Cali een spectaculaire week vol met parades met meer dan 50 salsascholen, meer dan 1.000 dansers, live orkesten en nachtelijke optredens van bekende salsa-artiesten.

🔥 ¿Qué es el estilo caleño?
La salsa estilo caleño es un estilo colombiano reconocido mundialmente por su rapidísimo juego de pies. A diferencia de otros estilos de salsa, los bailarines mantienen una postura erguida sin inclinar el cuerpo al cambiar el peso, ejecutando movimientos de pies amplios y dinámicos. Cali es ampliamente considerada la capital de la salsa en América Latina. Cada diciembre, la Feria de Cali presenta una espectacular celebración de una semana, que incluye desfiles con más de 50 escuelas de salsa, más de 1.000 bailarines, orquestas en vivo y presentaciones nocturnas de artistas reconocidos.
