About the Artist
Mireille Cloutier is a Lethbridge-based artist working across both 2D and textile mediums. For over a decade, she has explored the versatile medium of encaustic, creating evocative works from coloured beeswax inspired by her surrounding environment. Drawn to vivid colour and rich texture, Mireille embraces encaustic for its depth, flexibility, and exploratory nature.
In addition to her encaustic work, Mireille is also a beautiful watercolour painter and maker of beloved handmade mittens, crafted from upcycled materials and thoughtfully repurposed into everyone’s favourite winter accessory.
Beyond her studio practice, Mireille offers workshops for adults, sharing her fundamentals of art, art history, and encaustic techniques. Her work continues to evolve as she explores new approaches and creative possibilities.
