Join us for an ART/Work Professional Development Session focused on preparing and communicating effectively with the media about your art projects and initiatives. This session will provide practical guidance on crafting your message, presenting your work to journalists, and building positive relationships with media outlets. Learn from guest speaker Liam Nixon, Communications and Engagement Strategist for the City of Lethbridge, who will share insights from his extensive experience in public communications and media relations. Whether you are an emerging artist or an established creative professional, this session will help you gain confidence and clarity when sharing your story with the public.

Facilitator Liam Nixon -
Liam joined the City of Lethbridge’s Communications and Engagement team in November 2023. In his role, he oversees several key departments, including Parks & Cemeteries, Recreation & Culture, and Community Social Development. Prior to joining the City, Liam spent nearly two decades working in southern Alberta newsrooms, where he covered local, national and international stories. His journalism career earned him multiple regional and national accolades, including the prestigious 2015 Bert Cannings Award for Best Small Market Newscast in Canada.
