- **Event Description**: Brand new year, brand new band. Well, new to Baldock Folk Club at any rate. The Hanging Bandits are a Hertfordshire based alternative folk band with lyrics that touch on society, friendship and working class life.  Their music is original and maybe a bit different to the normal folk club fayre, but we’re looking forward to discovering their unique sound and presentation.

They’ve released three EPs and a debut album, Domesticated Animals, and are currently working on a follow-up called The Captain’s Last Words.

Besides the music, they have a lot of videos and have recently started branching out into travel logs and documentaries covering topics like The Rendlesham Incident and the mysterious history of Scotland!

DnA are Dave Oxley and Ali Cossor who played at the club a couple of times and totally captivated the audience with their gorgeous harmonies each time. Dave (vocals and percussion) & Ali (vocals and keyboard) began their musical collaboration as members of local five-piece band, Sky West. As a duo they focus on the duet, relishing the opportunity to develop a more subtle and intimate blend of two voices. Expect some well-loved but re-imagined covers, with a sprinkling of original songs – and lots of harmonies!

Many members will recall Phil’s visit to the club last year on the night Stella Hensley and her band played – hence the psychedelic backdrop! Phil hails from Saffron Waldon, is a fine singer and guitarist, and a very talented songwriter and we’re greatly looking forward to having him back to play for us.
