Shetland Story Slam is inspired by the award-winning Moth storytelling events, first held in New York City 25 years ago.

Stories can be hilarious or poignant, recent or something that happened many years ago. What are the secrets, lies, recipes, heirlooms, legacies, curses or traditions that helped shape you?

The story should be:

► Connected to the theme of 'family'
► 5 minutes max
► Told without notes
► Respectful and inclusive
