Leather Journal Workshop

Join us as we construct a leather-bound journal or diary similar to those of the 18th and early 19th centuries, that can be used in the 21st century! Instructor Lance Beever will guide participants through all phases of construction, teaching the proper way to dye and stitch leather. Pre-registration is required. This very hands-on class is limited to 6 participants.

This two-day beginner-level workshop begins Saturday, April 11th from 9am-5pm and resumes Sunday, April 12th from 9 am until finished. $70 registration fee includes all materials and use of tools needed. Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site, a gateway site for the Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area, was the 1840s home of Abraham Lincoln’s father and stepmother, Thomas and Sarah Bush Lincoln. It is located eight miles south of Charleston and 14 miles southeast of Mattoon, Illinois.
