- **Event Description**: Learn how to support young people with mental health issues in this 2-day course - it's like first aid for the mind!About this EventThe Youth Mental Health First Aid Course is a two day training session designed to equip you (adult over 18 years) with the tools to provide initial support to adolescents experiencing a mental health problem or crisis.Each day runs from 9.00am to 5.00pm (7 hours).Over the two days you will learn about:Adolescent development.Signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in young people.Where and how to get help.What sort of help has been shown by research to be effective.How to provide first aid in crisis situations.Participants will receive a Youth Mental Health First Aid manual and Certificate of Accreditation upon the successful completion of the course.Details:Day One: Thursday 20 November from 9.00am to 5.00pm.Day Two: Friday 21 November from 9.00am to 5.00pm.Snacks, coffee and tea will be provided.
