Annie is backed by daughters Deborah Caldwell Moore, Anjessica Caldwell and goddaughter Toni Rivers; their eldest son Willie Jr. is on the bass and youngest son Abel Aquirius is on the drums. 

Since the release of Can’t Lose My (Soul) [Luaka Bop, Spring 2025] — hailed as “a masterpiece” by The Guardian (★★★★★) — the family has performed in more than twenty countries on four continents, and recently made a star turn on the UK's preeminent music program Later... with Jools Holland.
