Session #1 Introduction to Fox Chasing and Riding in Groups - Saturday, August 29 - 9:00 a.m. @ A Moment in Time Farm, Leonardtown - Main Arena

The first half of this session will start with an "on the ground" introduction to etiquette, terminology, and expectations, followed by a mounted session in the ring. While in the ring, horses and riders will receive instruction and practice riding in a group and then a brief ride out of the ring. There will be two riding groups: a walk/trot/canter pace and a walk/trot pace. Snacks and drinks will be provided.


Session #2 Introduction to the  Hounds -Saturday, September 5 - 9:00 am @ A Moment in Time Farm - Leonardtown, Main Arena
 
The first part of this session will be a mounted session where horses will be introduced to the hounds in the ring. Next, riders will practice riding in a group with hounds. This is an ideal experience to introduce horses to hounds in a non-hunting scenario. Horses can slowly get used to riding with hounds. Stay after for snacks, drinks, and Q & A. 

Session #3 Early Season Hunt - Saturday, September 26 - 9:00 am @ DLB Kennels in Mt. Victoria - Mill Run Rd, Mt. Victoria, MD 20661
This session will be held at the DLB Kennels. It is an informal hunting opportunity where horse and rider will get to experience a "pre-season" fox hunt. There will be three fields available: first (walk, trot, canter, and jumping), second (walk, trot, occasional canter), and hilltopping (walk and occasional trot). Instructors will be available in all fields. Approximately a 2-hour ride.  Stay after for an informal tailgate.
