In this unique 3-night Residential Retreat, held by experienced facilitators and healers Michele Eve and Willow Jordan, we will explore our relationship with Mother as archetype and as personal experience. The venue, surrounded by the beauty and abundance of Mother Earth, offers opportunities for group sharing, individual reflection, and companionable crafting.
The Spirit Doll.
Using needle felting techniques taught by fibre artist Michele you will be invited to create a Spirit Doll to represent mothering: to express, heal, hold that relationship of mother/child. All the wool and natural materials used to build layers of intention and meaning will be provided but some may be bought by you or collected on site. Further information on preparation, and items you may want to bring, will be sent to you nearer the time.
The creation of this doll is at the heart of the Retreat but the process of bringing it into being will be supported by ritual, journaling, storytelling, and nurturing space.
Other activities will be organised intuitively but may include:
*Creation of a Compassion Egg
*Story telling around the fire- time to tell your story and have it heard
*Journeying using the Trinity Rattle
*Guided mediation into Mother Earth and what it is to be held, supported and safe, Nature practice to support this meditation.
*Creating a loom using Y shape stick, weaving in elements from nature to connect with the mother child birthing relationship, using the loom in ritual circle.
*Fireside chat- What is mothering? Who mothers you now? What do you need? Where might you find it?
*Drumming Ritual of release and welcoming in love, movement, and dance.
*Wet felting to make cloth to wrap your Spirit Doll in.
INFORMATION
This Retreat is fully inclusive of all who seek to engage with an open heart, respect for others and with curiosity.
It is not suitable for children given the sharp needles, and participants should be aware that some risk of blood magic is involved!
You are invited to arrive at 12 noon on the 3rd to settle into your accommodation and be ready to begin. The Retreat ends at 12 noon on Monday 6th.
Full board is included, which will be wholly vegetarian. Some individual requirements may be catered for, you are invited to speak with Willow for more details. You are of course welcome to bring your own food, milk, snacks, and anything to help you feel at home.
Pinewood House is a Healing Retreat Space and also Willows home. It is in a rural location near Knighton, Powys on the Welsh Border. Further details of the venue can be found here on Driftwood Hollow’s website
Accommodation will be in a mixture of shared, double and single rooms.
