If you’re a dog owner living in the Rodney area, Kiwi Aversion Training is one of the most important things you can do to help protect local kiwi.
Our backyard is kiwi country. From Tāwharanui to Maunga Tamahunga and the surrounding buffer zones, kiwi are moving through areas many of us walk, work, and hunt with our dogs every day. Over summer, longer days and more time outdoors increase the risk of an unexpected encounter and even the calmest, best-trained family pet, working dog, or hunting dog can pose a serious threat to a kiwi.
Kiwi Aversion Training is a quick, 10-minute session that teaches dogs to recognise and avoid the scent of kiwi. Run by an experienced trainer using specialised e-collar techniques, the training is safe, proven, and suitable for all dogs.
Whether your dog is being trained for the first time or is due for a refresher, now’s the time to act.
More than 200 local dogs have already completed Kiwi Aversion Training, helping keep kiwi safe right here at home.
Please book your 10 min training session via our website.
